Barry Pride Festival was first held in 2019 and was primarily located in High Street. Pulling together the High Street traders to provide an opportunity to celebrate Barry’s LGBTQI+ community.

 

After a break due to covid restriction the next Barry PrideFestival was held in October 2022 under the Eastern shelter on the Island, next to the famous beach huts. A march was held between Parade gardens and the promenade via the causeway.

In August 2023, the festival was once again held on Barry Island . At the annual general meeting (AGM) we asked a representation of the community their opinion about location in response to some requests on social media, it was decided that the location of the festival would change in 2024 and that we would use the King’s Square and Central Park

 

Barry Pride is an incorporated group with 4 trustees and a steering committee with various responsibilities.
